  Building a Stronger Community

At Washington County Hospital, we know that providing you with the very best healthcare means that we will be helping our community to grow and prosper well into the century ahead. A vibrant healthcare system is critical to the well-being of a region and its citizens.
A state-of-the-art hospital adjacent to the Robinwood Medical Center will support two vital components of our regional economy: business and education. Here’s why . . .

When business leaders evaluate moving into a new area, they look at many facets of the region’s quality of life. One of their primary concerns is the availability and quality of healthcare. They look for healthcare providers who have advanced technologies, a stable workforce, and a modern facility. No one wants to build a business, where his employees can’t conveniently get the healthcare they need. People do not want to raise a family where they may need to leave the community to get the best possible medical care. When the hospital builds a new facility adjacent to Robinwood Medical Center, people will not need to seek modern healthcare in other communities.

When educational leaders look at their community, they want to find partners in the development of their students. For example, they want to offer their students field experience in the most up-to-date environment possible. Students want to learn about cutting-edge technologies that will help them find good jobs in a thriving community.
n A new hospital will offer expanded services in women's and children’s health, in the operating rooms, and in the special procedure rooms. Students from throughout the region will have the opportunity to stay close to home, while redefining their skills in a hospital with advanced medical technologies. They also will have the chance to participate in evolving patient care models that are family-centered. Students will learn not only about the science of medical technology, but also about the art of caring from dedicated, compassionate, and well-educated caregivers in all disciplines.

If we want to keep the brightest and best students in our community after they have completed their training, we must continue to offer exceptional job opportunities and advanced educational programs. A new hospital at Robinwood Medical Center will make our region a center for healthcare education that will be the envy of many communities.
It’s no secret that business leaders and educational leaders want what you want in a hospital - advanced medical technology in a modern facility that offers the best possible quality of care in a safe environment. Built in the 1930s, the current Washington County Hospital facility is quickly becoming outmoded. It cannot build new technologies or new patient care models into its aging structure. If we do not build a new hospital adjacent to Robinwood Medical Center, businesses will look to other communities. If we do not build a new hospital adjacent to Robinwood Medical Center, regional education institutions will have to look for other partners outside our community to train their students in the latest medical technologies.

Our region deserves the best healthcare we can provide for businesses and their employees, for educational institutions and their students, and for each of us and our families. The best location for a new hospital is adjacent to Robinwood Medical Center
